An Aluminium Can is all what you need to increase your WI-Fi signal. I guess it is the cheapest way available to do so!You need to place the foil behind the antenna of the your wireless router and the foil will redirect the signals to your preferred location thus by increasing the overall signal strength.
Other than the aluminium foil, the below video will show you how to make your own Wi-Fi extender at home by using an empty coke can or soda can.
The can's body is a bit sturdy than the foil and can's lid acts a stand. Be careful while cutting the can with the knife and make sure that can's inner body is completely dry!.
